Our History
GCo Solar started operations in 2000 as a partnership trading as Geraldton Electrical Co. in the regional town of Geraldton, 420km north of Perth. Prior to this partnership, the foundation contracting business was Petrochem Electrical which had been in operation since
1985. In 2007 the business was incorporated, and in 2012 rebranded as GCo Electrical to reflect its growth as a state-wide electrical contractor.
In 2018 GCo became a part of the Sterling & Wilson Group who are a global MEP and EPC business with a history dating back to the mid-1920s. This acquisition provided GCo with the support and backing required for it to expand into other states tackling some of the
largest renewable projects in Australia.

In 2019 GCo Electrical became Solar to reflect its focus on the renewable energy sector. At the same time, our sister company GCo Australia was formed to focus on the general electrical contracting work in the mining, industrial and commercial sectors.
